Information to foreign pilots who wants to fly in Norway.
What you need to know before flying in Norway.
To be allowed to fly in Norway you have to hold a valid IPPI licence. Your National organisation can issue the IPPI licence that gives proof of your flying experience and also that you hold a legal licence. Be prepared to show this licence whenever you are asked for it. Some of our flying sites has local restrictions. Take contact with one of the locals before you fly!
Hang and Paragliding are regulated from HP/NLF (that is Hang and Paragliding section of the Norwegian Airsports Federation). HP/NLF is situated in Oslo and the opening hours is every day from 8.30 - 15.00 hours. The phone number is +47 90867560. Part of the flying season HP/NLF is run from the National centre of hang and Paragliding in V?G?.
The National center for hang and paragliding in Norway is located in V?g?, about 300 km from Oslo. The center offers accomodation, camping facilities, meals, transport, salesarea etc. V?g? and the surroundings offers good places to launch on every wind direction. The highest start in V?g? is Bl?h?, 1618 meters above sea level and 1200 meters above landing. Good place to launch for XC or just to fly for fun.

Vole
This is the most used place to start and the closest place to the centre.
Vinddirection: SSE to SW
Hight above sea level: 1070 meters
Hight above landing: 720 meters.
Main landing: The National centre
Notice: Always talk to experineced personell before flying. Sometimes strong wind from west in the valley can be hard for PG to penetrate and there is a river close to the main landing.
Salknappen
Salknappen is situated 11 km from Vole on the way to Bl?h?.
Vinddirection: SE to S
Hight: 1120 meter over landing.
Landing: The National centre.
From this start we often experience wave-soaring.
Bl?h?
This is the highest starting place close to the National centre. There is a road all the way up. Winddirection: E to S and also NW-W . Hight: 1618 meters above sea level and
1200 meters above landing. Main landing the National centre. Nice place for lon XC flights but also for relaxing glides in the evening.
Juvassh?
This spectacular flying place is situated about 45 km south-west of V?g?.
Vinddirection: 1) NNW 2) NW til NNE
Hight: 1150 meter above bottom landing.
Landing: Galde. This landing might be a little turbulent some times. Half way down is a nice place to land close to a restaurant called Raubergstulen. If you want to fly more, walk to the take off place near the landing for a new flight
Raubergstulen
Vinddirection: NE
Hight: 450 meter above landing.
Landing: topp-land or fly down to Galde at the valley floor.
Bismo / Hyvre
Bismo is situated 47 km west of V?g?, and the longest XC's from the V?g?-aera has been flown from here. Vinddirection: SSE to SW
Hight: 630 meter above landing
Landing: Farmes field.
Facilities:
300 x 100 meters landing with 400 m2 National Centre Building.
21 beds. In addition, up to 10 people can sleep in the conference room.
One 9 seat and one 15 seat bus for transport to the launches and for retrievals.
One cabin for rent next to the main launch. In 2008 we plan 2-3 cabins at the landing for people to hire.
Wireless high speed internet.
PC with Internet ready for use for the guests.
Camping for tents, caravans and mobile homes.
Showers, sauna, washing machine, and kitchen.
Breakfast, dinner (buy and make it yourself), and beverages.
We have an outdoor hot tub.
Hang gliders for rent - WW Falcon 2.
Weather service and a weather station at the main launch and at the landing with webcam.
Living room with magasins, TV, video/DVD, PS2 and films.
BBC almost every evening.
Shop with different types of "flying related" equipment.
Activities and competitions 2008:
Open between May 1th and August 18th.
June 5th-11th: XC-Seminar for HG and PG.
July 118th-20th: "Milslukern" open distance XC competition for PG and HG.
July 16th-23rd: V?G? OPEN, CIVL category 2 HG competition, incl. the national championships for Norway and Sweden.

Most launches and sites are suitable for all levels of pilots, from beginners to xc and competition pilots.
National xc record flown from V?g? - 206,5 km.
Waypoints and routes for 25, 50,100, and 150 out and return and triangles available.
XC-flights only from the main launch at Vole.
